The Red Cross representative in Africa stated that 80% of healthcare facilities in Sudan are out of service.

In a press statement released on Tuesday, he noted that more than 100,000 Sudanese have been displaced from the city of El Fasher in the Darfur region of western Sudan to neighboring areas, and that children and displaced persons are suffering from severe malnutrition.

It is worth noting that 12 million people in Sudan have been forced from their homes, making it the largest displacement crisis in the world, according to recent United Nations reports.

Earlier, the Emergency Coordinator for the World Food Programme’s Sudan crisis, Sean Hughes, described the situation in Sudan as the largest humanitarian crisis in the world by all measures, with approximately 25 million people—half the population—facing severe hunger, and nearly five million children and mothers suffering from acute malnutrition.
