Marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls on 29 November, the Al Rowwad Cultural and Arts Society launched a series of televised episodes documenting Israel’s war of genocide, the massacres committed against Palestinians, and their impact on Palestinian society. The episodes are produced under the “Investing in Human Rights” project, implemented by the Palestine News Network (PNN) with the support of ASTM, and highlight the importance of documenting these crimes as part of broader efforts to hold Israel accountable before international courts.
The episodes, presented in both Arabic and English, shed light on the situation in the Gaza Strip and in refugee camps across the northern West Bank amid Israel’s continued perpetration of mass atrocities. The series underscores the vital role of documentation in exposing war crimes and ensuring accountability for those responsible.
The first episode, presented in English by journalist Rayan Abu Srour, featured legal expert and human rights advocate Shouqi Al-Aissa, who specialises in international humanitarian law. The discussion focused on the role of international law in prosecuting Israel, stressing that accountability for war crimes and acts of genocide does not expire with time. Al-Aissa emphasised that the crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people constitute crimes against humanity, and the day will come when Israel and its leaders are held responsible.
The episode also highlighted the critical importance of documenting all forms of Israeli violations targeting Palestinians. Al-Aissa urged continued efforts despite Israel’s obstruction of international law, supported by the United States, expressing confidence that this situation is not permanent and that Palestinians must persist in documentation, monitoring and publicising each violation.

The second and third episodes were presented by journalist Monjed Jado, Editor-in-Chief of PNN. The second episode hosted Nidal Abu Na’asa, a sustainable development adviser from Jenin Refugee Camp in the northern West Bank. Abu Na’asa discussed the concept of “social genocide”, referring to Israel’s long-standing intent to eradicate the Palestinian presence—a process that, he stressed, began not in recent years but 77 years ago with the establishment of the State of Israel.
He outlined the various forms of genocide and mass violence carried out against Palestinians, stressing that rigorous documentation—locally and internationally—is essential to building strong legal cases that could lead to severe penalties for Israeli perpetrators. Abu Na’asa called on official Palestinian institutions, including the Presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as all human rights organisations, to adopt systematic and academically grounded documentation methods. He noted existing shortcomings in this area and urged the use of legal tools developed by international scholars—including Jewish experts—during and after the Second World War to prosecute Nazi war criminals.

The third episode of the “Protection Denied” podcast focused on the experiences of Palestinian women during the current war. It featured women’s rights activist Nahayeh Al-Jundi, who also works closely with persons with disabilities in the Nur Shams Refugee Camp in Tulkarem. She discussed the conditions faced by Palestinian women amid mass displacement and ongoing attacks, sharing her own experience of forced displacement in Nur Shams and the severe shortages of basic needs faced by women.
Al-Jundi presented several cases illustrating the hardships women endure under Israeli bombardment and the extensive destruction in the camp. She also described her efforts to support displaced women and highlighted the essential humanitarian and daily needs required for resilience. Women, she noted, continue to persevere not only for themselves but for their children.
The episode further addressed the suffering of persons with disabilities, many of whom lost their homes, assistive devices and sources of stability. Al-Jundi stressed that the needs and rights of women and persons with disabilities remain insufficiently addressed by organisations tasked with providing support to displaced communities.
She called on the international community and human rights organisations to act immediately to stop violations against women and persons with disabilities, support them in coping with the hardships imposed by the war, and ensure accountability for Israeli war crimes.
The episodes produced by the Al Rowwad Cultural and Arts Society under the “Investing in Human Rights” project were broadcast on PNN IPTV and shared across PNN and Al-Rowwad’s social media platforms.
