M&S launches brand new range for customers looking to lose weight #launches #brand #range #customers #lose #weight

The range of 20 products is designed to help meet daily nutritional needs

Marks & Spencer is set to launch a new range of meals and snacks, specially designed to help people taking weight loss medication maintain a healthy diet.

The mass retailer announced its Nutrient Dense range, comprised of 20 products carefully formulated to help customers meet their recommended daily intake of fiber, vitamins and minerals. M&S suggests these meals are perfect for those with a reduced appetite or for people taking GLP-1 weight loss drugs.

The range will include an H5O shot, named after its five botanical ingredients, which were chosen and validated by scientists at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The range also includes coconut water, cold-pressed ginger juice, fruit and vegetable fiber, sea moss, as well as salads, meals and breads like Super Seed Oat Bread.

The move follows a significant increase in the number of people using GLP-1 weight loss drugs. Data provided to the Telegraph by life sciences analytics firm IQVIA revealed that 2.49 million packs of Mounjaro and Wegovy were purchased in July, a substantial increase from 493,000 the previous year.

Sales are said to have increased by a further million between July and August, amid widespread reports of stockpiling in anticipation of a price rise in September. It is estimated that around 90 percent of people using weight loss injections purchase them online or at major pharmacies.

The NHS has started rolling out Mounjaro, but there are strict criteria determining patient eligibility. Over the next three years, the health department plans to administer the shots to about 240,000 people.

Nutrient-dense foods are those that offer a higher concentration of vitamins, minerals, fiber, healthy fats, and protein relative to their calorie content. M&S referenced recent results from the government’s 2025 National Diet and Nutrition Survey, which revealed that 96% of the UK population does not meet the daily fiber recommendation.

Annette Peters, Head of Food Trends at M&S, expressed her enthusiasm for the new range: “The Nutrient Dense range is very exciting and is also incredibly useful for anyone trying to achieve their nutritional goals. It’s also great if clients are reducing their food intake, such as those taking weight loss medications.

She added: “We know that the use of GLP-1 medicines is growing, so it is more important than ever to ensure that even if people are eating smaller portions, we are helping to provide them with the right level of nutrients.”

Annette continued: “We challenged ourselves to make products that are more nutrient dense than calorie dense, so that every bite is packed with more of the good stuff we all need.”

The Nutrient Dense range will be available in M&S Foodhalls from 5 January.

Football: WRAPUP 1-Soccer-Arsenal beat Villa 4-1 while Chelsea and Man Utd both held on #Football #WRAPUP #1SoccerArsenal #beat #Villa #Chelsea #Man #Utd #held

LONDON, Dec 30 (Reuters) – Arsenal closed out 2025 in emphatic fashion, beating third-placed Aston Villa 4-1 on Tuesday to move five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers, who picked up their third point of the season, while Bournemouth took a point against Chelsea, forcing a 2-2 draw after a frantic first half.

Man United are sixth, tied on 30 points with fifth-placed Chelsea.

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal slammed the door as they charged Villa, ending their club-record 11-game winning streak.

Goals from Gabriel Magalhaes and Martin Zubimendi early in the second half put Arsenal in control of a match that looked fraught with danger.

Gabriel scored the opener from a corner in the 48th minute before Martin Odegaard slipped in a pass for Zubimendi to score four minutes later. Arsenal secured the points when Leandro Trossard shot from the edge of the area before Gabriel Jesus came off the bench to add the fourth.

Ollie Watkins scored a consolation goal for Villa in stoppage time.

“I think it was amazing,” Jesus told Sky Sports. “It’s always difficult to play against them… The mentality of the team is really, really growing and every game is growing even more and I think we win today because of the mentality.”

Arsenal top the table with 45 points, while second-placed Manchester City can close the gap when they play Sunderland on Thursday.

Villa are six points behind Arsenal.

It took six minutes at Stamford Bridge for Bournemouth to shock Chelsea when David Brooks grabbed the opener. Cole Palmer equalized from the spot in the 15th minute and Fernandez put Chelsea ahead with a shot eight minutes later.

Justin Kluivert brought Bournemouth level in the 27th minute to grab a point, adding to the London side’s unenviable record of one win in seven league matches. Chelsea are in fifth place, while Bournemouth are 10 places below them.

MAN UTD FIGHT

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee made the most of a rare start by putting the exhausted hosts ahead with a deflected shot from the edge of the area in the 27th minute.

But Wolves managed to equalize just before the break thanks to a header from Ladislav Krejci.

Patrick Dorgu briefly celebrated what he thought was a winner in the 90th minute, but it was flagged for offside.

“We struggled the whole game,” United boss Ruben Amorim said. “We lacked creation… the offensive fluidity was not there.

“We didn’t play well. When you don’t play well with the ball, you struggle without it.”

Wolves have three points from 19 games, 15 points from the safe zone.

Newcastle United’s Joelinton scored after 65 seconds and Yoane Wissa doubled their lead five minutes later in a 3-1 defeat to 19th-placed Burnley, who are winless in their last 10 games.

Josh Laurent pulled one back in the 23rd minute, but Bruno Guimaraes sealed Newcastle’s rare away victory with an injury-time goal.

Everton moved up to eighth in the table with a 2-0 victory over former manager Sean Dyche and Nottingham Forest thanks to goals from James Garner and Thierno Barry.

West Ham United drew 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion in a match featuring three first-half penalties.

Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta, from the penalty spot, scored before the break for West Ham, while Brighton’s Danny Welbeck struck from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute but fired another over the crossbar.

Joel Veltman scored for Brighton in the 61st minute to secure the draw.

There are four more games on New Year’s Day, including fourth-placed Liverpool hosting Leeds United at Anfield.

Gardai have appealed for information about a car they believe was used to commit a double murder in County Offaly earlier this month.

In an update they say they are continuing to investigate all circumstances surrounding the fatal fire which occurred at a domestic residence in Castleview Park, Edenderry on the evening of Saturday December 6.

Four-year-old Tadhg Farrell and his great-aunt Mary Holt died in the fire and a murder investigation, led by a senior investigating officer, was subsequently launched.

Tadhg’s grandmother continues to receive hospital treatment for severe burns.

Investigating gardai have now launched a public appeal for any information regarding a black Kia Rio Saloon car, registration number 08-D-24363.

It is said that the two men who carried out the fatal arson left the scene in the vehicle, which was later found burnt out in County Kildare.

“This black Kia Rio was found burnt out in Tipper East, Naas, Co Kildare in the early hours of December 7. The Garda investigation team is satisfied that no previous registered owner of this car is involved in any way in this deadly attack,” a spokesperson said.

The Garda investigation team say they want to speak with anyone who may have information about any person or people who had access to the Kia Rio between October 7 and December 7.

They are also appealing to anyone with knowledge of the car’s location or activities between December 1 and 7. Anyone with CCTV footage or footage of the car in Kildare, Laois, Offaly or the surrounding areas is urged to make the footage available.

Anyone with information relating to the double murder can contact the investigation team in confidence via the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
