California [US]October 6 (Ani): California governor Gavin Newsom on Sunday (local time), said that a federal judge had blocked the “illegal attempt” of President Donald Trump to deploy 300 members of the California National Guard in Portland.

“A federal judge blocked Donald Trump’s illegal attempt to deploy 300 of our national guard troops in Portland. The court granted our request for a temporary prohibition order – interrupting any federalization, relocation or deployment of the members of the Oregon of all state. The abuse of Power of Trump will not be held from Newsom on X.

The last ordinance intervened after Trump ordered the staff of the California guard in Oregon following a previous court decision which had prevented him from mobilizing the own troops of the Oregon Guard.

“After a Federal Court has blocked his attempted federalization of the Oregon National Guard, Donald Trump deploys 300 members of the California National Guard staff in Oregon. They are now there,” Newsom said in a separate position.

“We bring this fight before the courts. The public cannot remain silent in the face of such reckless and authoritarian conduct by the President of the United States.”

According to the Pentagon, around 200 members of the guard who already serve in California have been reallocated in Portland, of which 100 others should follow, CNN reported.

Oregon governor Tina Kotek confirmed that around 100 arrived on Saturday, with more on Sunday.

Deployments occurred one day after judge Karin Immergut of the US District Court of Oregon made a temporary prohibition order preventing Trump and the Ministry of Defense to mobilize 200 members of the Oregon Guard for a 60 -day mission. The judge wrote that she expected that a trial court concluded that the president had exceeded his constitutional authority.

Trump said the national guard troops are necessary in Portland to respond to demonstrations outside an immigration and customs application establishment (ICE). He also sought to send guard units to other cities led by Democrats, including Chicago. Illinois governor JB Pritzker said on Saturday that the White House was also preparing to deploy 300 guard troops there, according to CNN.

Earlier this year, Trump sent nearly 5,000 soldiers from the National Guard and the US Marines to Los Angeles during demonstrations against the application of immigration. A federal judge then ruled that these forces had been used illegally for the national police, although the decision is on appeal. (Ani)
