Donald Trump now plans to extend his anti-immigration campaign while his administration is preparing to accelerate the application of immigration to Boston. According to officials, Politico said that the last plans are likely to change, but would involve an increase in immigration and customs application (ICE) in the city.
This came after Trump extended his control over the capital, Washington, DC, like its transport secretary, Sean Duffy, announced on Wednesday August 27 that his department had taken control of the management of Union Station, the main transport center, far from Amtrak. The announcement came before Dufy joined the president of Amtrak, Roger Harris, at Union Station for the launch of NextGen Acela.
The secretary said that the union station, located at a distance from the American Capitol, had “fallen in ruins” when it should be a “pride” for the city. “By recovering the management of the stations, we return this city safe and beautiful to a fraction of the cost,” he added.
“ Specialized units ” of the National Guard
Trump signed several decrees Monday August 25, including that under which the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will establish “specialized units” in the National Guard. The guards will be trained and equipped “specifically” to deal with public order problems “. This came after Hegseth published a directive last week which authorized the members of the National Guard to carry weapons.
Trump suggested on Monday that he would ask the congress to codify the action, telling journalists from the oval office: “I think the Democrats will really vote for this.”
