Poland said that it had scrambled its own NATO air defenses to shoot drones on its territory after repeated violations of its airspace during a Russian attack on Ukraine in what the Polish army called an “act of aggression”.
He marked the first time in the war that Warsaw engaged Russian assets in his airspace.
“An operation is underway linked to the repeated violation of Polish airspace,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on Wednesday “The army used weapons against objects.”

Police discovered a damaged drone in the Polish village oriental of Czosnowka, police of the Lublin region announced on Wednesday.

The first reports on the possible violations of Polish airspace emerged late Tuesday evening after the Air Force of Ukraine said that Russian drones had entered Poland’s airspace, constituting a threat to the city of Zamość.
