The President of the United States, Donald Trump, published a video statement following the deadly shooting of the political activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk.
The 31 -year -old man was killed when he was addressed to thousands of people at an event at the University of Utah Valley.
Trump expressed sorrow and anger at murder, saying that it was the result to “demonize” those who have opposite opinions.
Trump says Kirk is a martyr
In his video message, the American president described Kirk as a patriot who inspired millions of people thanks to his struggle for freedom, democracy, justice and the American people.
“He is a martyr for truth and freedom, and there has never been anyone also respected by youth. Charlie was also a man of deep and deep faith, and we comforted in knowledge that he is now in peace with God in heaven,” said Trump.

Trump added that Kirk’s mission was to bring young people into the political process by sharing his love for his country and spreading what he called “simple words of common sense”. He blamed the murder of radical left -wing policy.
“For years, radical people have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to the Nazis and the worst mass murder and criminals in the world. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for terrorism that we see in our country today, and he must stop at the moment,” said the president.
Trump also promised to court those responsible for murder and other acts of political violence. He urged the Americans to maintain the “values” for whom Kirk lived and died, adding that Kirk’s voice and mission would not be silenced.

According to the UTAH Ministry of Public Security, the shooter has pulled a single blow from a roof nearby. Officials have described the incident as a targeted attack and a human hunting remains in progress.
Two individuals initially considered that the suspects had since been released.
Kirk was killed by answering a question from a public shooting member. In the wake of his death, Trump ordered that the American flag be piloted in half-mast.
