The White House criticized a former civil servant Thursday, August 28 for its non -sexist vocabulary. The manager, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, the former director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, used the expression “pregnant people” and not “pregnant women” in his resignation letter on August 27.
He wrote that “the recent change in the calendar of adults and the vaccination of children threatens the lives of the youngest Americans and pregnant people”. The white house press secretary Karoline Leavitt said: “He identifies pregnant women as pregnant people. He is therefore not someone we want in this administration anyway. So, if people are not aligned on the president’s vision and the secretary’s vision to make our country again healthy, then we will gladly show them the door.”
A few moments later, Leavitt was insisted on the question of whether the managers postponing in private the agenda of the president should fear losing their jobs.
“I think that if you do your job well, and if you perform on the vision and the promises that the president made to the public who elected it at this office, you should not be afraid of your work. Just do your job, ”she said.
