The amounts of the overpaye varied from 1 to 64 € and totaled € 25,000Customers to publish a full refund for the full cost of booking – as well as an additional reduction to be used during their next parking reservation Complete reimbursements to all customers concerned, and not only the amount of the overload, will total around € 350,000All the customers concerned will be contacted directly with “complete and not reserved excuses”

The airport carried out two promotional flash campaigns in March and May during which a rate of € 10 per day was applied to prices excluding wells, which are supposed to be lower than the price.

According to DAA, customers have paid over too much from 1 to 64 €, 90% of which were overcharged by less than € 12, according to DAA.

“We want to sincerely apologize for a number of our parking customers who have been wrongly overcharging earlier this year due to a pricing system linked to a special offer,” DAA said in a statement.

“As soon as we got to know the problem after being brought to the attention of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) by customers, we have launched a complete survey.

“We have identified the cause of the error and took immediate measures to put things back.

“We directly contact all affected customers to provide complete and unreserved apology. We also publish a full refund for the total cost of their reservation, as well as an additional discount to use during their next car park with us. ”

The press release added: “We understand that any overload is unacceptable, and we are really sorry for the downside caused.”

The CEO of the DAA, Kenny Jacobs, said: “We were wrong, and I want to apologize personally to all the customers who have been overloaded. This should not have happened.”

He said that no form should be completed to request a refund, and that new checks have been set up to ensure that the same thing does not happen again. They will contact all the customers concerned directly.

“We are proud of the high levels of satisfaction that we have accumulated, and we are determined to maintain this confidence by doing the right thing, each time.”

The CCPC said its intervention in the case had been caused by complaints received from customers.

He said in a press release: “Flash Sales parking announced a promotional rate of 10 or 12 € per day; However, in some cases, the airport parking lot was at a rate lower than the advance and after promotion.

“Consumers who bought promotional parking in these cases were more billed when promoting sales. In total, consumers were overfacked by just over 25,000. The DAA informed the CCPC that the overpays were the result of an error on its part.”

The president of the CCPC, Brian MCHUL, said that the commission had taken “rapid measures”.

“All CCPC assistance line calls are detected for potential violations of the consumer protection law and stimulate our application and compliance activities.

“Flash sales have coincided with the addition of a new competitor in the airport parking market. Active competition between companies is vital to stimulate the choice, better service and innovation. However, any promotion must be based on real advantages for consumers. ”
